La Osa is the first cooperative and participatory supermarket in Madrid, located in the neighborhood of Tetuán. They have more than 1 200 members who are consumers, co-owners and participants. They are committed to local consumption, agroecological agriculture and apply these principles: proximity to avoid fuel expenses in long transports; reduce unnecessary packaging, consume in season to reinforce biodiversity and end modified seeds; equity to promote rural economy and fair remuneration; knowledge of the soil and the environment to forget biocides and artificial nutrients….
