Cheryl is a career sustainable business and investment strategist, champion of entrepreneurship and driven to maximise impact by taking a systems approach to strategies and investments. A specialist in identifying regenerative value streams, brokering high-performing partnerships and aligning global influencers to enable scale. She brings a passion for enabling the power of diverse perspectives and mobilising vast global and local networks of business and societal leaders, system disrupters and change makers into action.
Cheryl’s global experience spans corporate sustainability, global development, innovation and entrepreneurship for sustainable growth, sustainable business acceleration, innovative impact investment mechanisms, coalition-building, and ecosystem design.
From 2015-2020 Cheryl has been the inaugural Executive Director and CEO of the Toilet Board Coalition, a business-led coalition of public, private and academic sector system disrupters bringing business solutions, innovation and new impact investment opportunities to an important and urgent global development issue. Founder of the first business accelerator
programme, innovation marketplace, and impact investment platform for sanitation. She brought the circular and digital economies to sanitation, creating new value streams culminating in the cost to value business vision for the Sanitation Economy – now a global movement of influencers and practitioners activating scalable system transformation.
Cheryl is Canadian and has worked and lived across global and local markets. She has been based in Switzerland, since 2004. Cheryl holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Relations and Environmental Science from the University of Western Ontario (UWO) in Canada, and a Certificate in Business Finance Leadership from the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Switzerland.
Cheryl is a member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Impact Committee at Quadia Impact Finance, has served on several Global Steering Committees in WASH and Health, including MIT Solve, WASH4Work and HumanRight2Water, a co-founder of CSR Geneva and Sustainable Finance Geneva, and TEDx Geneva speaker on: The Power of Networks in Advancing Sustainable Development.
